Four Online Android App Review
Four Online is just the updated version of Connect 4 Online. This Android app is extremely simple, but also just as addicting. It bases most of its value off of the fact that it is capable of handling multiplayer matches. If you have ever played Connect Four at home then you know the basic rules of the game. Each player takes turns putting in either blue or green chips in the grid. The trick is to stack your chips so that you can get four in a row and win the game. Your opponent is also trying to do the same thing so you have to have strategy and also be able to predict moves. This game is like a souped up Tic Tac Toe. It actually is much harder than you think it would be, and the game has been updated with a more difficult computer AI as well.
This multiplayer version allows you to get online and see high scores and leaderboards as well as challenge advanced players. There are thirty second rounds, local games, and stats all posted on there as well. You can decide to either play one of you friends that is physically near you, play the computer, or play strangers online. As you continue to match four chips either vertically, horizontally, or diagonally, you will get better at choosing your moves and strategizing. The online version also allows you to chat with other gamers and either talk crap or get hints and tips on how to be better.
- The phone vibrates at the end of every game declaring a win or a loss
- Features blue and green tiles to match into a sequence of four
- Can play online with a simple registration. You are given 1400 points to start out with
- In online play, there is a thirty second timer that makes the opponent forfeit if they take too long
- Features 30 second quick play, online leaderboards, and ability to chat with other players
A very simple game, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be fun. These kinds of Android apps are often the most fun because they only take a minute or two to play, and you get to test your wit against other people. Beating someone at Connect Four is just as satisfying as and Olympic medal in some people’s books. Let the games begin.
Voted 4 out of 5 stars by Android app users and is currently free to download.
